Boston by T is a one-person operation — Tim, an East Boston resident who built this guide. This page covers bostonbyt.com and the interactive guide. It's written in plain language on purpose; if anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and ask.

What This Covers

This policy applies to bostonbyt.com and the interactive guide. It doesn't cover Etsy's checkout or account pages (see Etsy's privacy policy) or Stripe's payment page (see Stripe's privacy policy) — those are run by their own companies under their own terms.

What We Collect

• Email address — only if you sign up for guide updates. We also note which page you signed up from, so we know what content people are asking for.
• Purchase verification info — an Etsy order number, or the email address you paid with on Stripe. This is used only to confirm you bought the guide and unlock access on /access.
• Basic traffic stats — pages visited, general device type, approximate location by country/region — via Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that runs without cookies and doesn't track individual visitors.
• Standard server logs — the routine connection logs (like IP address) any web host keeps for security. These are Cloudflare's infrastructure logs; Boston by T doesn't separately collect or query them.

What We Don't Collect

• No card or payment details. Stripe and Etsy handle payment processing directly — Boston by T doesn't see or store your card information.
• No account, no password. Access runs on an order number or email match, so there's no login to create and nothing to lose.

Cookies & Local Storage

• One functional cookie. After you unlock the guide (via a Stripe purchase or an Etsy order number), we set a cookie that remembers you've unlocked it. It doesn't hold your name, email, or purchase details — just an unlock flag — and it expires after a year.
• On-device preferences. The interactive guide saves a few things directly in your browser's local storage — which stops you've checked off, your favorites, day/night map theme. This stays on your device; Boston by T doesn't receive or store it.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third Parties Involved

• Stripe — processes direct purchases on bostonbyt.com.
• Etsy — processes Etsy purchases and hosts the Etsy listing.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site, runs the access system, and provides the cookieless traffic analytics described above.
• Google Fonts — loads the site's typefaces from Google's servers, which may log the request the way any font CDN does.

How We Use What We Collect

Your email is used to send occasional updates — new routes, new neighborhood guides, a few times a year. It isn't sold or handed to a third party for their own marketing. Purchase verification info is used only to confirm a purchase and grant access — nothing else.

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe any time — every update email includes a link, or just email us and we'll remove you.
• Delete your data — email [email protected] and we'll remove your email signup and verification record.
